History: Overview

Powers/Abilities: Siffleur can change into a large cougar at will, transforming from human to cougar in about 1 minute. The transformation is painful and brutal, and will tear apart any matter caught against his flesh when changing. He has all the strength and abilities a cougar has when transformed. He's capable of a partial transformation but it's extremely painful to maintain and he can't hold it for longer then half an hour before his body forces him to commit in one direction. As a human, he's stronger than most men his size and physical build are, and has a higher pain tolerance. He can also digest raw meat without growing ill. The cycle of the moon has no effect on his transformation, nor does he react to wolfsbane or silver. He has some regeneration abilities - notably wounds heal more quickly (within hours instead of days), but if he's gutted/beheaded, he'll die.

Inventory: The clothes on his back, a wallet with a fake ID/health card and $50, and a pay-as-you-go burner phone.

Suppressions:

Siffleur attempts to repress the fear that his mother is dead, but it's becoming harder for him to deny that circumstances point to her untimely end. She has always been unstable and unhealthy, prone to disappearances, and often when she reappears, she is not in a healthy condition. The last time they met, she was missing three toes and couldn't tell him how they were lost. They have never gone more than three years without seeing each other, or at least seeing a trace of one another. His return to the Yoho is an admission to himself that he is truly worried about her, even as he still resists thinking of her death.

Siffleur attempts to repress the loneliness he feels. He keeps his mind busy by focusing on short-term pleasures, such as hunting/killing for fun or occasionally smoking and drinking. Siffleur has previously entered into relationships to sate this need for companionship but has abandoned all of them when they became difficult or hostile. He spends more time as a cougar than a man in the hopes that living as a solitary animal will destroy the man parts of him that crave companionship.

Siffleur represses the parts of himself that feel sympathy or pity for other creatures and people. He began this when he was young and his mother taught him to survive under any means necessary. As a man, he uses sadism to mask those occasional feelings as well, focusing on the delight that comes from the hunt and from killing and drowning out any guilt he might feel from his actions.

UPDATES AS OF APRIL 2023:

As he's spent time on the ship, his repressions have shifted somewhat. No longer lonely - and having found a way to balance his need for closeness and distance - he has become aware of his loneliness before the ship. He now fears a return to it, knowing that it will be more painful now that he knows how good it feels to be among people.

He continues to strongly repress the idea that he could be a caring and suitable parent, and holds onto the idea that he is a 'father' - a classification in his mind for a person who gives nothing and takes everything.

Greatest Fear: That his mother is dead, and he is truly alone: the only one of his kind that he knows. He will spend the rest of his days in unwanted solitude and will die in the dark of winter with an empty belly and a bullet through his chest.

Greatest Desire: Finding someone who loves him unconditionally, be it a lover or child, or his mother. No one has ever loved him for what he truly is and while he accepts this as how the world works, he longs for someone to prove him wrong.

Greatest Regret: That neither of the children he fathered were like him.

As of Jan 2023, Siffleur has built an obstacle course inside of the Tommy Bahamas, near the check-out counters.
As of Feb 2023, Siffleur is able to quickly and violently regrow his own limbs after they've been removed from his body.
As of March 2023, Siffleur is now aware that a version of his mother is in his memories. He can 'speak' with her using the spirit writing/'automatic' writing set he was gifted from Sundries. She has no control of his body, but her thoughts can occasionally be picked up by mind readers.
